Coaching for Juniors

Olympic offers a number of coaching opportunities in the summer for athletics and in the winter for cross country.  This is in addition to our club night.

We have training options for 7 year olds through to college age, seniors and masters - so there's something for everyone from young kids through to adults.  



We are privileged to have specialist coaching each week day afternoon from Amanda Goldsmith for 7 years and over.

Training covers sprints, starts, long jump, endurance, relays, high jump (age 10 and over), hurdles (age 12 and over).


Current training schedule as at 1 February 2021

  • Monday - High jump 3:45 to 4:45 (juniors), 4:45 to 5:45 (seniors)
  • Tuesday - Endurance sprints 3:30 to 4:30 (juniors), 4:30 to 5:30 (seniors)
  • Wednesday  - Long jump 3:30 to 4:30 (juniors), 4:30 to 5:30 (seniors)
  • Thursday  - Sprints/speed 3:30 to 4:30 (juniors), 4:30 to 5:30 (seniors) (Note no hurdles)
  • Friday (Newtown Park) -  Hurdles 4pm to 5pm (12+), Long Jump 5 to 6.15pm.

All trainings above are at Grenada North Park or Newtown Park on Fridays

  • Juniors (age 7 to 11)                        3.30pm to 4.30pm
  • Seniors (age 12 and above)            4.30pm to 5.30pm

Olympic has built up a strong middle distance group of runners who run track in the summer and cross country and road in the winter. Great training for the school cross country season. Lots of fun training with others in a team environment with kids of all ages and abilities. We have training groups for everyone so don't worry if you're just starting out. Fantastic fitness training for your other summer and winter sports too.
